"Research has shown that patients' experience with medical center proper care is significantly related to whether or not healthcare facilities are well-resourced with respect to healthcare, as nursing employees are the ones providing the most direct personal proper care in healthcare facilities."

The research analyzed the performance of 212 Attractive healthcare facilities in comparison to that of 212 matched non-Magnet healthcare facilities, by analyzing their Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) research. Designed to evaluate patients' short-term medical center proper care experience, the HCAHPS research constitutes 30 % of a hospital's total performance score for compensation by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Solutions.
"Our research is one of the most comprehensive studies to date to demonstrate an association between Attractive recognition and patients' satisfaction with their medical center proper care using the HCAHPS research," said Betty H Aiken, Director of Penn's Center for Health Outcomes and Plan Analysis. "Patients who received proper care in Attractive healthcare facilities reported signi?cantly higher satisfaction with their proper care."
"The Attractive recognition process focuses on innovation; evidence-based, patient-centered care; and a collaborative culture, making these likely members to the more favorable personal proper care experience demonstrated in our results," said co-investigator, Matthew D McHugh from Penn Nursing's Center for Health Outcomes and Plan Analysis. "For example, when nursing employees execute in an environment that is well resourced and management is helpful of nursing employees, nursing employees are able to spend some time analyzing and educating sufferers and families, which may explain the better communication, pain management, and medication explanation ratings that we observed."
